Koppert Cress BV started on July 1, 2002 in the Netherlands, after being purchased by Rob Baan.
In 1993 and 2001 our company received the prestigious AGF Innovation Award. This biannual award was the perfect stimulant to spark further developments. Koppert Cress has since grown to be one of the leading horticultural businesses in the world.
In October, 2006, we proudly launched our first franchise in the United States. Our 30,000 square foot greenhouse is located in Long Island, New York. This strategically positioned location guarantees fresh supply across the United States.
To maintain accurate market prices, major investments in automation and modernization took place over the years. Our state-of-the-art greenhouse facilities and ongoing expansion reflects the demand for fresh, clean and outstanding flavored Micro-Greens, Micro-Vegetables and Specialties.

By building close relationships with chefs and mixologists throughout the United States, we gain a better perspective of the gastronomic world and its intricacies. We thrive on good partnerships with specialty produce distributors and wholesalers throughout the United States. Our product reach spans restaurants as far as Alaska or even Hawaii. Specialty distributors supply restaurants, hotels, caterers and gourmet market retailers throughout the world.
We take pride in using our continued success to help charitable organizations. Since our beginnings in the US, we have supported Autism Speaks, a gala event which raises funds to support the development of new medical techniques, and research for a cure. Koppert Cress shows its support for culinary education by providing the Culinary Institute of America with ingredients which allow their students to explore their creativity. Our latest achievement in July 2010 has been being appointed the official James Beard House Purveyor of rare Micro-Greens, Micro-Vegetables, and Specialties.
